At Survival Atlas, we believe that your privacy is a fundamental right, especially when you are off the grid. This Privacy Policy outlines our strict data practices. The short answer is: We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data.

1. No User Accounts Required

You do not need to create an account, provide an email address, or log in to use Survival Atlas. There are no tracking profiles or user identities associated with your use of the application.

2. Location Data & Permissions

To provide offline mapping, custom waypoints, and navigation features, Survival Atlas requires access to your device’s precise location services.

  • How it is used: This permission is used solely to render your current position on the map, orient your built-in compass, calculate navigation routes, and allow you to save custom waypoints.

  • On-Device Only: All location processing, coordinate tracking, and map rendering happen entirely on your local device.

  • Zero Transmission: We do not track your location in the background when the app is closed, and your location data is never sent to external servers or shared with any third parties.

3. Storage of Custom Data (Waypoints & Maps)

Any custom locations, waypoints, notes, or downloaded maps you save within Survival Atlas are stored locally on your device’s secure storage. We have no access to your saved spots, routes, or travel history. If you delete the app, this locally stored data is permanently deleted from your device.

4. Off-Grid Sharing (Bluetooth & Text)

Survival Atlas allows you to share coordinates and maps with nearby companions via Bluetooth or SMS text message.

  • Bluetooth Sharing: This establishes a direct, peer-to-peer connection between your device and your companion’s device. No data passes through an internet server.

  • SMS Text Sharing: This utilizes your device’s native messaging system. Any data sent via text is subject to the privacy policy of your cellular carrier.

5. Third-Party Analytics and Advertising

  • No Analytics: We do not use third-party analytics frameworks (such as Google Analytics or Firebase) to track your in-app behavior.

  • No Ads: Survival Atlas is ad-free and contains no advertising tracking SDKs.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app. However, our core philosophy will never change: your local data stays on your device. Any updates will be posted directly within the app or on our official App Store page.
